Visionary team with global mindset

Group Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Vishwajeet Rana is the Group CEO of GEDU. He holds an MBA from Ohio University and both an MS and PhD from Stevens Institute of Technology. Earlier in his career, he worked at HSBC’s New York office, where he executed complex cross-border equity and debt-structured investments and financing transactions across the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and Hong Kong.
Passionate about the transformative role of education, Dr. Rana actively studies global education models and applies them to expand access and unlock student potential through higher education. In recognition of his contributions to widening participation and advancing social mobility, he was appointed in 2025 as an Honorary Member of the Advisory Board of UNITAR’s Division for People and Social Inclusion.
Dr. Rana is also an author. His works include the textbook Dr Rana on Applied Corporate Valuation & Financial Modelling and the forthcoming co-authored volume Our Coastal Heritage: Conserving the World’s Shores for People & Nature.

Deputy CEO
Professor Ray Lloyd is Deputy CEO at GEDU. Until recently, he was also the CEO of Global Banking School (GBS), one of the institutions within the GEDU Group. He was previously Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Leeds Trinity University and Head of Department and Dean at Abertay University. Professor Lloyd’s first degree was in mathematics, which he taught for several years both in London and in Botswana, where he also served as the director of coaching for their track and field association. Following his return to the UK in 1996, he completed a Master’s degree in Sports Science, followed by a PhD in the same field, combining academic activities with elite sport roles.

Group CFO
Petros Neocleous is a seasoned finance professional with over 20 years of experience. He has worked with industry giants, contributing to their growth and restructuring efforts. His philosophy emphasises collaborative finance/business partnerships, not just financial oversight. Previously, as Group Finance Director at Oxford International Education Group and Finance Director at Time Inc. UK’s Digital division, Petros optimised financial strategies. At GEDU, he brings this collaborative mindset to the ever-expanding GEDU Group, aiming to create value through strategic financial leadership.

Chief Commercial Officer
Viren Patel is an experienced business leader with a strong background in education, telecommunications, healthcare and retail. Prior to joining GEDU, Viren served in various positions at The Open University over the course of a decade, ultimately becoming CEO of OU Worldwide and Director of Employers and Partnerships. In this role, Viren was responsible for leading the university’s commercial activities and developing relationships with employers and partners at local, national and international levels.
Under his leadership, the OU broadened its offerings to develop skills-based solutions that support employers and partners in addressing workforce challenges. These initiatives range from the introduction of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and Microcredentials to the development of short courses and the empowerment of FE colleges. Viren has collaborated with over 2,800 organisations to bridge skills gaps, address workforce shortages and promote lifelong learning.
Previously, Viren served as Head of New Market Development for BPP, a leading global education company. In addition, he has held several senior leadership positions with BT Group and Colt Telecom.

Director of Global Strategic Planning NUS Chief Executive Officer Office
Lina Rincon is Director of Global Strategic Planning at GEDU, where she plays a central role in shaping the group’s global pre-enrolment strategy. Since joining GEDU in 2022, Lina has been instrumental in building scalable admissions and visa operations and enhancing the student journey across all GEDU institutions.
With more than 15 years’ experience in higher education, Lina has held a variety of admissions, recruitment, and planning roles across several international institutions. This breadth of experience gives her a deep understanding of the student lifecycle and the operational frameworks needed to deliver sustainable growth.
Her focus at GEDU is on enabling institutions within the group to expand their global reach, while ensuring access to quality education for students worldwide.
